Canadians can avoid Anti-Refugee Sentiment

This CBC radio interview discusses the anti-refugee sentiment that can arise from attacks, such as the recent events in Paris.

From my perspective and experience, Canadian citizens can do better when:

-they are a part of the discussion about bringing refugees to Canada.

-they are an informed part of the decision and process to bring refugees to Canada.

-fear of the unknown is alleviated through education and participation.

It is important that the Canadian government engage Canadian citizens at all levels, in bringing refugee families to Canada.  This will help to provide a long-term effective settlement of refugee families in Canada.
