(The word "snow", written in the Karen language, by a student.)
Canadian citizens across the country have the expertise and resources to survive a Canadian winter. There are many opportunities to use these expertise to help refugees settling in Canada, to not only survive a Canadian winter, but to thrive. If you see someone who isn't dressed warmly enough for the winter or someone who seems to be struggling in navigating the ice and snow, find a way to help them adapt. In his call to action this morning, the Governor General of Canada, David Johnston, stated, "A warm Canadian welcome in a cold Canadian winter- what could be more fitting?"
Let's do what we can to provide a warm Canadian welcome this winter!
