The following recommendations were made in research of Karen refugees in British Columbia by Marchbank, Sherrell, Friesen & Hyndman, (2014):

9.  Disbanding the Government Transportation Loan Program because the loans tax        refugees often limited resources.

10. Re-evaluating the securing and availability of affordable housing.

11. Explore new approaches to language provision.

12.Re-evaluate Canadian citizenship requirements as some refugees are never able to      obtain citizenship.
