In this research, Murray (2014), evaluates the discourses around Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) refugee claimants living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Specifically, a conceptualization of home that acknowledges the previous home countries, where the refugees have fled, but remain in contact with, is considered. By acknowledging the complex and dynamic lives of SOGI refugees, through informed discourse, there may be more effective ways to support refugees in Canada.
